Benefits Summary

Health Insurance
Residents are provided both single and family coverage, at no cost to the resident, by Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Dakota. Insurance shall commence on the first day of residency.

Dental Insurance
Residents are provided Delta Dental single coverage by the Center For Family Medicine. Families may be added to the resident’s coverage at the expense of the resident.

Vision Insurance
The Center For Family Medicine provides both single and family vision coverage at no cost to the resident.

Professional Liability Insurance
The Center For Family Medicine provides Professional Liability Insurance at no cost to the resident.

Disability
Residents are provided long-term disability insurance. First and second-year residents have a $2000/mo. benefit and third-year residents have a $2500/mo. benefit. Premiums are paid in full by CFM. This policy also contains a conversion privilege upon completion of your residency.

Life Insurance
CFM provides a $50,000 term life insurance policy at no cost to the resident. This policy also contains a conversion privilege upon completion of your residency.

Carriers and coverage limits can be modified at CFM’s discretion

403 (b) Tax-Advantaged Retirement Savings Plan 
The Center For Family Medicine gives employees the option to set up a tax-advantaged retirement plan.

Employee Assistance Program
All residents have access to the Employee Assistance Programs through two, local health systems.

Lab Coats
The Center For Family Medicine provides residents with two white coats.

Technology
Residents receive a new laptop computer during their time at the program.

Education
A total educational allowance of $3,000 is provided. The educational expense money may be used either for meeting costs or for educational books and/or materials. The ATLS, ALSO, NRP, and PALS courses are provided.
