What Year 3 looks like outside the schedule

Moonlighting opportunities

Moonlighting up to 60 hours per month is allowed during your second and third years — extra income and real independent practice experience.

Indian Health Service rotation

Block rotations in IHS communities across South Dakota, building the skills to serve Native communities and rural populations.

Funded retreat

Third-year residents join first- and second-year residents for another program-funded three-day weekend at a resort the group selects together.
