An FP-OB fellowship based in Sioux Falls for physicians serving rural and underserved communities

Offered through the Sioux Falls Family Medicine Residency, this 11-month fellowship is built around high-volume surgical obstetrics and the full scope of GYN office procedures. Fellows train in Sioux Falls in an unopposed setting alongside OB-Gyn providers, maintain their own FM clinic panel, and help teach Sioux Falls family medicine residents.

What you will do during fellowship in Sioux Falls

Surgical obstetrics

150+ cesarean deliveries with progressive autonomy. Operative vaginal deliveries built into the rotation schedule.

Gynecologic office procedures

LEEPs, colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, IUD placements, and the full scope of common ambulatory GYN procedures.

High-risk pregnancy management

Co-management with MFM at a tertiary care center — diabetes, hypertensive disorders, preterm labor, abnormal placentation.

Neonatal resuscitation

Routine and complex resuscitation experience in the OB and L&D setting.

Eligibility

Who can apply

Applicants must have completed a 3-year ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency and be eligible to train in Sioux Falls. Applicants must be:

  • Board certified in Family Medicine, or
  • In your third year on track for certification by August 1.
