Core Family Medicine

A foundation that grows with you.

Core Family Medicine runs through all three years, with longitudinal blocks and weekly continuity clinic giving you time to build on what you’ve learned. You’ll revisit essential skills, get to know your patients, and grow more confident in caring for the whole family.

What you’ll learn along the way.

Foundation

Ambulatory Family Medicine

Outpatient care is at the heart of your training. Each Core Family Medicine block includes a full week in clinic, in addition to your weekly continuity sessions—more time to get to know your patients and build confidence caring for the whole family.

Multidisciplinary

Addiction Medicine

Learn to support patients with substance use disorders through team-based clinics and community partnerships. You’ll gain experience prescribing medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), including buprenorphine, and build skills you can carry into your future practice.

Embedded

Behavioral Health Integration

Learn alongside psychiatrists, therapists, and behavioral health clinicians in outpatient clinics and treatment centers. Build skills in counseling, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), bringing mental healthcare into the everyday care of your patients.

Clinical Specialties

Broaden your skills in dermatology, neurology, surgery, radiology, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), and critical care. Focused one-week rotations in the ICU and specialty clinics give you time to learn alongside experienced physicians and put your knowledge into practice.
